"Styles" in Creator AI

One of the strengths of AI image generation tools like the one inside Creator AI, is that you're able to quickly generate images with similar subjects but with a massive variation in styles. If you're trying to generate an image of a duck wearing an astronaut suit riding a motorcycle, with a little bit of prompt engineering, AI can return an image that's photorealistic, one that's illustrative in style, or even something more abstract.

When you click the "Generate Image with AI" button inside Creator AI, the first thing you'll be prompted to do is select a style for your image. You can choose to skip this step, but unless you're an advanced AI prompter, you're most likely to get better results if you make a selection on this screen.

What this style selection is doing behind the scenes is adding a predefined prompt to the prompt that you create, in order to achieve a reliable and consistent style as you modify your prompt or move on to new prompts.

Below is a brief description of all 24 prompt styles you'll find in Creator AI, along with some tips for working within their individual idiosyncrasies.

Photographic

The photographic style is the most straightforward and self-explanatory. If you want something photographic, but not very stylized—or if you're not sure what you want—this is a great place to start.

Cinematic

This style is designed to be a photo real style that leans into dramatic, moody lighting and emotional composition. Because of the way the behind-the-scenes prompt is constructed, you may find that this style inserts humans into your scene when you weren't expecting it to—moody and emotional tend to be very human-oriented descriptors after all. Also, the generator may often try to render the scenes with nighttime ambience to add to the drama.

Minimalism

The minimalism style is very similar to the photographic style, but will yield compositions that are less cluttered, with more negative space and muted colors. Interior spaces will tend to feel more modern.

Vintage

Vintage leans into a pre-digital camera aesthetic. Images generated with this style may have a slight blur or softness, and usually have a faded (or almost sepia) tone to their colors. The generator will also often add a solid frame around the image, reminiscent of old physical photos like polaroids. While the imagery style will feel vintage, the content of the image may feel modern, unless you prompt accordingly.

Black & White

Very similar to the cinematic style, this style tends to yielded darker, dramatic compositions, but obviously without color. Likewise, it tends to render scenes with nighttime ambience, or significantly underexposed to feel darker.

Bokeh

"Bokeh" is a photography term describing the out-of-focus areas of a photograph that are more pronounced when using a lens with a wide aperture. In Creator AI, the bokeh style often adds additional out-of-focus light sources that look like floating balls of light. It also often delivers fully out of focus images, which may not be very useful by themselves, but when you're trying to overlay text on top of your image, this style can help with contrast and legibility.

Motion Blur

The motion blur style adds a directional blur to the background and foreground of an image, while keeping the subject mostly in focus. This adds a feeling of movement and chaos (even stress) to what would otherwise be a photographic style image.

Zoom Blur

Zoom blur is very similar to motion blur, but the effect is usually less dramatic and chaotic. It adds some motion and emphasizes the center focal point of the composition.

Lens Flare

The lens flare style is another one that is very similar to the simple photographic effect, but it adds a light source (or more than one) that creates a dramatic lens flare effect in the composition.

Tilt Shift

"Tilt shift" is an effect that adds a heavy blur to the foreground and background of an image, which often makes the subject feel as if its in a miniature setting. As such, the tilt shift style doesn't have the same impact in all contexts—it will be more noticeable in larger scale scenes.

Fish Eye

A fish eye lens is an extreme wide angle lens that warps the field of view into a circular shape. It can feel like an action camera (GoPro) or a hidden camera. This style emulates that.

Close Up

Close Up is another style that doesn't work for every context—to get the most out of it, your prompt should be specific about where the focus should be in a scene. Otherwise it may end up looking very similar to the results you'd get from bokeh or tilt shift styles.

Poster (Creative)

This is the first of the non-photorealistic styles. Its output can range from cartoonish to a more refined illustrative style. However, it will usually NOT have strong black outlines characteristic of some cartoons.

Vaporwave (Creative)

Vaporwave renders tend to be more photorealistic, but with a heavy 1980's nostalgia aesthetic. It is marked by neon pinks and blues, geometric elements, and retro-futurism.

Abstract (Creative)

Abstract varies from photorealistic to illustrative, but is usually marked by colorful blobs and splatters added to the scene.

Cyberpunk (Creative)

Cyberpunk is like a darker, grittier vaporwave. Neons and retro-futurism still abound, but the polish is traded for a dystopian mood. Exterior scenes will usually have a dark cityscape added, so this style isn't really suited for biblical scene creation. Unless that's what you're going for.

Infrared (Creative)

An infrared camera reads light frequencies below the visible spectrum and does fancy math to put them into the visible spectrum so that we can see them. This leads to a washed out, ghostly look that is particularly notable on foliage—which is the reason this style puts foliage in every render.

Comic Book (Creative)

A heavily illustrative style marked by thick black outlines, halftone textures, and bright colors.

Fantasy Art (Creative)

Fantasy Art makes everything feel like the cover of a fantasy novel. Epic landscapes, softer colors, and  a painted realism look are characteristics of this style. Most prompts will yield some sort of mountainscape, even in interior scenes.

Anime (Creative)

Based on the increasingly popular Japanese animation style. This style features over exaggerated human features, and highly technical illustrated settings.

Line Art (Creative)

Simple black and white line drawings reminiscent of a fresh coloring book.

Art Deco (Creative)

Based on the precise, ornate architectural style. Renders will either have architectural elements in the "art deco" style, or frames and elements reminiscent of early 20th century Parisian poster art.

Impressionist (Creative)

Like its namesake painting style. Heavy brushstrokes and unconcerned with capturing realism as much as feel.

Watercolor (Creative)

Also like its namesake painting style. Cloudy, light colors. Sometimes renders will include watercolor artifacts like liquid drips or watery edges.
